Plus Enchanted Blue Beano - my first homebred angora to win a best coloured angora at a major 5 * championship - Bradford 2015. Sadly could not continue his line due to wet eye, so it took a further three years to find a compatable show line to breed with Tinkerbelle's / my foundation lineage..
2017 brought the blues back to Enchanted Stud .. and my favourite colour being bred again, just as Orinoco died, he left his progeny in the nest - phew!
My journey as an angora exhibitor ..
After a year of owning and rescuing angoras. I bought my practice exhibition angora from Petala Stud in 2013. Sunshine won the best angora at Bradford 2014 making it onto winners row with my first ever angora show! I then gave up 12 other breeds of rabbits I exhibited and dedicated myself to the angora alone. I was hooked!!
I continued to breed and work with my coloured foundation stock, rescues, pets and surplus stock from exhibitors, wanting to create a new line and show a homebred that amalgamated the best and I knew it would take time and patience.
Enchanted blue Beano (above left) Winner of best coloured at Bradford 2015 became my first homebred coloured shown. I then won coloured classes at stock shows during 2015 with a variety of colours - up to 8 taken to each show!
I then concentrated on my best and knuckled down to gain BRC champion with Enchanted brown grey Confucius in 2015. The year ended taking best adult coloured angora at London champs with cream 'Prince Charming'
I then decided I had to prove I could also breed a show winning white, after some u5 wins with white rabbits others had bred as my introduction, I felt it was time to bite the bullet, breeding a winning white from my coloured lines was my aim for 2016!!!
By July 2016, I had accumulated enough points and finally with my first best in show (under no other than the angora maestro Richard Grindey) meant I had gained NAC championship status with Enchanted white Mistletoe ... at this point I knew I had nothing more to prove, was exhausted and elated .. as this had pushed my hidden disabilities to their limit. My rabbit had been judged in its own right throughout the Uk shows under a variety of judges..I was so proud, but it had been a rollercoaster of a journey and it was time to have a break! Now I'm back to specialising in breeding the coloured angora, whilst still supplying show stock to those exhibitors and mentors, who used to help / supply me..until stud closed. its much easier watching from the shadows and its better for my health lol .. but I may be tempted to come back one day ;)
Petala Little Miss Sunshine of Enchanted Stud - winning best angora at Bradford 5* championship show in 2014.
Sunshine is mum to Enchanted China (sister to Confucius) and has a special place in my heart and my very first exhibition angora and still carried in my show lines.
